Katlehong Outreach Program
Aims:
- Focus on orphaned and vulnerable children between the ages of 0 6 years.
- To be a link between the community and the formalized health care system and assist children with developmental delays or disabilities to access the appropriate services available.
- To maintain communication between the community and the Lambano Sanctuary / Big Shoes Foundation clinic focusing on children possibly infected with HIV.
Actions:
- Visit various organizations to gain knowledge of the current situation in Katlehong
- Keep records of services offered, number and type of children accommodated
- Visit and forge relationships with professionals within the formalized health care system
Aims:
- To provide free training on
- Child development and stimulation
- Appropriate use of toys and importance of play
- Making of cost effective home-made toys
- Working with disabled children
Actions:
- Be a part of Big Shoes Foundation’s Basic Child Health courses
- Offer independent workshops within Katlehong

Work through the existing forum of NGO’s in the community to organize workshops in Katlehong
